Cliche

If Roses are Red,Violets must be blue
The road is forked, one path to choose
As dark as night, as bright as day
I sure hope this poem's okay

If what goes around will come around
Then what goes up will sure come down
I had the chance but it slipped away
I'm afraid I sound a bit cliche

Silence is golden when you have nerves of steel
Does this poem hold any appeal?
The point is just around the bend
When something starts it has to end

Patience is key, the end is near
This poem is done, the buck stops here
There's nothing more that I can say
Without me sounding too cliche.

Haven

This is what is safe
I remember this place
This is our shelter
Our own special space

My arms 'round your neck
Yours 'round my waist
The warmth of your comfort
as my hands touch your face

Now I cannot seem to breathe

Let me go but please don't leave
You hold my soul inside your squeeze
As we sufficate our memories

As time holds still inside our pose
The dust it settles on our clothes
We've been here long, I'm sure it shows
We've watched our haven decompose

Untitled

Heavy winds keep knocking me over
Pushing me to fall
I can't see them
Not at all, not at all

These invisible forces want me on my knees
They want me to bleed
Until I'm dry
I'll cry, I'll cry

Save the Date

It's a warm day on this morning
All flowers in bloom
A day to remember
On a Sunday in June

Not a cloud in the sky
Smell the scent of Spring
On this day like every day
the birds will sing

Don't forget to save this date
Today is my day
When the people I love
must give me away

When the eulogy ends
They lower me down
My guests start to cry
while I'm put underground

It's a matrimony
between me and my doom
Spending my death
in my very own tomb

But the birds go on singing
And the sky remains blue
Forever hold my peace, I do.

man

Winter shares a room with three other Seasons
The Moon and the Sun breathe the same Air
The Forests embrace the Rain
The Flowers don't need to impress each other
The Wind moves the Dirt
The Ocean kisses the Sky and meets the Sand

And then there is man...

Who wants his land and won't share
Who doesn't like getting stuck in the rain
Thinks he's more superior than the next man
A man-kind of pollution that poisons the air and litters the earth
Who swims in the ocean and walks on the sand
Who are we to think we can?

Sun

SUNRISE
EASTERN LIGHTS
MORNING OPENS HER EYES
BREAKING THROUGH HIDING
FROM THE TEMPORARY NIGHT
A BURNING FORCE THAT FOLLOWS A PATH
LEAVING OUR TIRED WORLD DIM
THE LIGHT WEARING THIN
BRIGHTNESS FADES INTO
WESTERN SHADE
SUNSET

Write A Sonnet

Well written words that follow a meter
Rhythm and rhyming and the pattern flows
In proper form to impress the readers
Tally the syllables in all the rows
Equal in quatrains, three different sets
And a couplet which is placed at the end
Sonnets are written and must look their best
Overlook nothing, make sure to emend
Now that you have written up to nine lines
Nearly approaching not far from fourteen
Enlighten yourself to think of a rhyme
That can wrap up all your thoughts at the seams

It's fun to write sonnets, don't you agree?
Now try to write one acrostically!
